We encourage you to provide structured learning, on www.thelearningworld.com.

Anyone can sign up for free as an instructor on The Learning World, and create structured learning on any topic under the sun. Using an extremely powerful LCMS (Learning Content Management System), a user of The Learning World can create and manage a full fledged learning program online, including time driven course dissemination, testing and evaluation and certification.

An instructor can setup courses, define content resources for the course, setup structured timelines for course participation, invite people to participate in a course, and conduct a hugely interactive learning session online through content sharing, forum discussions, quizzes, chats, response driven assignments, blogs, wikis, surveys and so on.

An instructor may also sign up in other courses as a student to participate in learnings offered by other instructors.

The Learning World is primarily based on a free as well as a paid service model.

The Free Service Model

  1. You get automatic rights as an instructor when you create your account on the system.
  2. You may create any number of courses online
  3. You may invite anyone to enroll and participate in courses so created.
  4. You may not charge students for courses created under the Free Service Model. Anyone may signup as a student for a course offered.
  5. All content that the You put up under such a course, is automatically deemed to be open-source or copyleft, and automatically licensed under the GPL (click to know more)

The Paid Service Model

  1. In this model we setup a separate learning space for you to conduct your courses online and charge for them from students who may enrol.
  2. This offering is provided either as a subdomain on TheLearningWorld.com (i.e TheLearning World.com/YourZone) or as a domain of your own (i.e. www.YourZone.Com)
  3. These private learning spaces will be covered under an annual payment contract.
  4. There are no restrictions to the number of courses you provide under your personal space.
  5. You may also lease course spaces in your personal learning space to others on a free or paid basis.
  6. There is no ceiling on the amount you charge students, for attending your courses. All such parameters are totally decided solely by you.
  7. The LearningWorld.com scope of service extends only to creating space and providing software for you to manage and run your own learning programs. It does not provide you content design, learning design or any other service. These can be handled separately as per your requirements by teams working with TheLearningWorld.com.
  8. In your own space, you will have full control over all aspects of learning and user management.
  9. We recommend that for a best way ahead, you setup a free preview course on TheLearningWorld.com and then direct students for further learning on your personal space. This will also allow you to enjoy further benefits including using TheLearningWorld.com as a space to advertise and promote your courses.

A Few Points you ought to be aware of and adhere to :

  1. That you are a responsible enough instructor, and do your best to provide factual and correct learning only.
  2. You take time off to mentor students on a regular basis by participating in all the student interactions on your course. After all, they look up to you for providing learning to them.
  3. That you do not use this forum to upload offending material including porn, violence, abuse, racism, or provide training on acts of violence, disruption, and other things that the world can really do without.
  4. That you do not paste content here from other sites, etc without providing due copyright notices as applicable by sources you may be getting content from.
  5. That we, thelearningworld.com or OSMOS Multimedia Pvt. Ltd. are not responsible for any copyright violations arising out of instructors / students or anyone else posting content here. We cannot really go through all the content and do searches to check out where they have come from.
  6. That you abide by various terms and conditions as may be prescribed from time to time by the admins of this site.
  7. That we are not responsible for any content you may have put up here appearing somewhere else, even if you are a paid member.
  8. That we can’t really guarantee that this site will work exactly the way you want it to, though we will make an attempt to listen to you and add values that we see are fit for a larger audience section.
  9. That your email address won’t be shared with anyone for sending you advertisements or spam or whatever else. And that while we do our best to keep your email and contact details for us solely with the view to keeping you updated on various activities on the site, we can’t be held liable for hackers stealing your address through means that they may have at their disposal.
  10. That we wish to keep this a fair play ground, and that we wish this to be a portal for responsible citizens who wish for nothing more than sharing learning and providing a huge amount of knowledge for all generations to come.
  11. That we will also be actively involved in providing content arising out of the FREE MODEL to various NGOs, NPOs and other agencies engaged in providing social services to the underprivileged in society, around the world. And that you agree to let your content be so used.
  12. That paid members may not hold us responsible for not getting students, etc.
  13. That you test the system out with a free course, before you decide to move into paid services.
  14. That you don’t request us for refunds because something you “thought was there” isn’t there. We make no claims towards anything except providing you with Moodle, the software we consider God, and with server space for your content.
  15. We would also request you to stay updated through our blog, and review various postings out there with care. The blog will essentially provide a window to our actions, thoughts, learnings and moves as we grow with you and learn more through thelearningworld.

Please note that not reading this is not an excuse enough to do any of the above. Also something not mentioned here, but is bad all the same, will not be a reason enough to shoot us. We don’t have lawyers on our team, and maybe when someone launches a “how to write legalese” training online, we might perk this up.

Suffice it to say that we are here with this portal for global good and growth, and that any use of matter, material, resources here for bad or destructive purposes is condemned by us. If such a thing is brought to our notice, we will promptly remove such content / people from our system.
